Verizon Motorola v325

Forums:

I am developing a gpsOne application on the new Motorola v325. The specification sheet lists the phone as requiring additional provisioning. As my application does not work as expected (I upload it to the phone and have location turned to ON, rather than E911 only), I believe that it needs to notify Verizon/Autodesk's location services application so that users can grant it authorization to determine position. Does anyone know how to do this or have any experience with the v325?

Thanks!

I haven't verified this works but I do have the V325 and I downloaded VZ Navigator app; which at some point asked me to enable the location service during the following hours (something different from enabling location service/911 option)
I did see an FAQ at verizon's web-site that mentioned you could also enable this via the web. So, I suppose it's possible to somehow automate this in your app (to avoid making everyone download VZ Navigator and enabling)

Can I change my location privacy settings later?
Yes. You can make changes in one of two ways. First, you can download the free Get It Now application called Location Management. It is located under getGoing. Location Management will allow you to change the location privacy settings for any location-enabled application you download to your phone.
Second, you can go to the Location Management website from your computer. Go to https://www.vzwlocationmanagement.com/llspp to view and change your location privacy settings. You can also access this website via a link from Get It Now.

Hi brewdude/jpage4500
If you are developing the app that uses the (LBS) lib of Verizon/Autodesk you need a client ID from Verizon/Autodesk; without this the location server will not respond to your request. As the App/client that are provisioned on their location server only gets the response from the server.

The Location Management can only change the privacy of the application that are provisioned on the server for your handset and not all LBS/GPS application.
