BREW 3.1.5 simulator is very slow

Forums:

I am not sure, if anyone else has observed this issue, BREW 3.1.5 simulator is rather slow, especially when we start it (load time is significantly long).

In the MSVC debugger I see that simulator keeps dumping continuously

It might be the new app manager version that is included with the SDK. You can revert to the old one by deleting brewappmgr.mif from the extensions directory. (The old app manager is still compiled into the simulator.)

Hello,
in my opinion something's wrong with reading files from emulated filesystem. I've noticed that emulator's speed perfromance goes extremly down when reading, for example, *bar files.
Anyone observed such a strange behaviour?
Mayby some of you solved this problem already?
Thanks for any help.

Matha

I had the same issue, and it looks like unchecking the "Heap Validation" in the Tools->Settings dialog sped up the simluator.

hello,
we had the same problem, it was caused by calling the method
ITEXTCTL_SetActive()
- the text in the Textbox was repeatedly selected and could not be edited properly.
"If your applet is compiled with BREW 3.1.3 or later, a call to activating the control will set a selection over the entire text. This will occur whether the control had been active or not prior to the call. To preserve the older behavior of not selecting the text you may set the TP_FOCUS_NOSEL property with ITEXTCTL_SetProperties(). "
hope that helps,
