IPosDet GPS API problem on handsets.

Forums:

Hi all,

I am having problems with IPosDet API, the code works on the emulator, but it does not work on the phone. I have tried on the Moto V325, V3C, Samsung 930, and none of those worked. I am beginning to believe that U.S Verizon has blocked the LBS on all their handsets. Can anyone confirm this?

thanks

Hi
I experienced the same. You got any confirmation?
Thanks in advance,
Kriss.

Whether the device is GPS enabled or not?

Hi hari,
Yes the devices are GPS enabled. We downloaded VZ Navigator and it is working fine.
Thanks,
Kriss.

HI
Verizon does not allow any other application other then VZ navigator to use GPS API, but they plan to make it available by next year.So at this point you can't use LBA in your application on verizon handset.

Thats not quite true. LBS works fine on the Verizon network if you are authorized developer with the Verizon LBS developer program. We are currently testing an application and having no trouble with the calls.
I would look through the Verizon LBS developer information if you would like to go further with your on handset testing.

Hi,
Thanks for the useful information. We have registered with Verizon LBS developer program and working with them.
Thanks again,
Kriss.
