How to call input interface not from ITextCtl?

Forums:

ITextCtl has so many bugs.
ITEXTCTL_SetText can not set more than 228 chars. If not, phone restart.
ITEXTCTL_SetMaxSize must on the neck of ISHELL_CreateInstance. If not, it doesn't work.
etc.

No i have not noticed these so called bugs.

Widewave,
Why dont you try using Textwin.c given by BREW? to make use of multiline text box.
OR
Try creating your own widget(textctl), that takes input and display it to the user. You need to handle all key inputs, navigational keys etc., Also you need to show cursor, rectangle, colors, font etc., If getting input is the main task then you can make this widget and use or if you can afford this widget file size also.

I have a look at TextWin.
But I don't know how does it handle event and how to use it.
Who can give me a example of TextWin?
Thanks very much!

I didn't find events handling function of TextWin.
I should use TextCtl for input and TextWin for output, shouldn't I?
Thanks for reply.

I think the requirement of this textwin is to display multiple pages of text, so you can use TextWin_AppendLine & TextWin_Scroll. But in your case you want to get the input with these many lines?.
Did you try using multiline property with so many chars. Till now I have never faced with this problem, but there can be maxchar & T9 feature that might crash for few handsets.
