API to prompt text completion without going through ITEXTCTL

Forums:

I have come across a lot of issues with the ITEXTCTL in the past and so I want to completely bypass it and write the solution.

It would be a big help if someone can point me to any API that can be used for text completions, so that it can work like the t9 or rapid mode.
I want to pass in a char buffer or a char and it can return the list of all possible completions....

hey I dont think so that is possible with any other defined API.
U can try creating your own API(or rather a small function) by creating ur own list of possibilites for the given word and searching through them and getting the most matching to be added to your word or char you passed. And keep updating your list based on the entries made.
But quite possible it might not be the exhaustive list supported by ITEXTCTL.

This can be a enhancement request for BREW team which will help for the developer who want to create their own widget.

thank you sprakler and bru...
ITextCtl should have a way to do this in the future SDK's  ..
I did find a way to do the text completion by using the ITEXTCTL in the background and painting the display myself , for now..
thank you.
