Siemens SXG75: autostart Brew Programs, and access to GPS

Forums:

Hi All!
I don't have any knowledge about BREW, and want to get to know if I'm able to make few key-tasks:
1. Write a program which will start automatically after phone turned on (in this case writing something like my own screensaver would be good)
2. access to GPS, SXG75 onboard GPS (as I know it's connected with COM-port)
3. Can I use GPRS in BREW (connect to Web, via http)

Thanks in advance!

First of all, this handset is a GSM handset. The BREW platform exist in CDMA handset only.

Siemens SXG75 is CDMA Handset!
Bru, if you're NOT sure in some things, please do NOT answer.

1. Check the FAQ board, there's a thread about registering for shell init notification.
2. You'll need a device build that supports GPS through BREW and a properly provisioned device. I don't know if any of the officially released builds support IPosdet, but I have seen some "unofficial" (no, I can't give you the build) ones that do.
3. Yes, it will be transparent to BREW and depend on your SIM card.

BIG Thanks, So I will start digging BREW now...
One more question:
for writing such a program and for it normal work on phone - do I need to register something, registering myself somewhere, buy some soft?

I mean the program which I will use myself, and not going to distribute.

You'll need to be authenticated to get access to the QUALCOMM tools (including the test sig generator, which you'll need to run your app on the device) and QUALCOMM support.
