Is there and/or all there plans to support the setting of ringtones via IAddrBook? From what I could find it seems that this capability is only possible via handset/phone specific apps.

For Ringtone, most of the manufacturers may store the pointer instead of Ringtone itself in BREW layer. So for the third developer you can not access the pointer to get the Ringtone. Actually the pointer is nothing to third developers.
