Can't connect UT Starcom with Apploader

Hi,

I'm having the a problem connecting AppLoader to a UTStarcom 7025. I've got the official USB cable & drivers.

But, Apploader can't seem to connect to it. The phone shows up normally in Windows Device Manager as a Modem and COM port. But, nothing seems to work using AppLoader to connect to it. Do I need to try downgrading AppLoader to before the whole BTIL patch mess?

I also tried the 'test enabling' post and it seemed to already be set fine:

I don't have a serial cable around.. is this the only solution?

thanks,
joe

Hi,
I am also facing the same issue for 7075.
Wanted to know how should i go about checking whether device is Test Enabled or not on UTStarcom 7075.
Thanks in advance

Just wanted to reply to this since I had all kinds of trouble connecting to the UT 7025. The phone was test-bit enabled but needed UTStarcom to reset the SPC code to zeroes.
This is the description I got from UTStarcom:
"We set the SPC code to zeroes. Brew test enable was already set to Yes.
We had an additional security measure in place to prevent unauthorized
tampering of the device when a random SPC code was used."
After this, I was able to connect using the USB cable.
thanks,
joe

this is strange, I have a CDM 7025 and have the same problem as you had, I cannot connect to AppLoader at all, except I do have a normal serial cable.
I just got the phone back from Qualcomm QIS also, it is verified Test Enabled, and the SPC code is set to all zeroes.
This makes me think there is a missing factor that Starcomm may have left out that prevents connection with Apploader, besides SPC zeroes and Test Enable.

Did you manage to find out what the problem was in the end?? I had the same problem and never found a fix for Letting to Students so just wondered.
Many Thanks
