Proper Use of ISMSStorage

Forums:

Hi,

I'm trying to access the OEM sms inbox/outbox, etc. in BREW 3.1.X. When I call

void ISMSSTORAGE_GetStorageStatus(ISMSStorage * po, AEESMSStorageType st, AEESMSTag mt, AEECallback *pcb, AEESMSStorageStatus * pss, uint32 *pnErr)

on an LG UX260 with every possible combination of AEESMSStorageType and AEESMSTag, it never reports the device as containing any SMS messages (although some combinations report there being space for SMSs).

Is there another way to access the saved SMSs on the device?

Thanks in Advance,

Jon

I meant to say I was trying to access the statistics for each storage type/tag for the phone. Even when I try and access the SMSs using ISMSSTORAGE_EnumNextMsg, it returns nothing. Does anyone have a working example anywhere?
Also, Is there a way to create SMSs on the emulator, so I can test on that instead? I tried doing it through the BREW Simulator, but nothing happened.

You're probably out of luck. I don't know of any phone which allows access to SMS messages through ISMSStorage, or any other way for that matter.

That's not good news, but thanks. I'll try talking to the OEMs.
