ISHELL_GetResSize returning zero

Forums:

Hi all,

I am facing a small problem. I cannot able to load the resource string.

When i use ISHELL_GetResSize(), the last paramenter is 0.
I searched the forum and tried the solutions for similar problem, but its of no use.

Awaiting for the reply

This is the code i am using:

ISHELL_GetResSize(pMe->a.m_pIShell,APPSTRINGS_RES_FILE,IDS_HELP_TEXT,RESTYPE_STRING,&nBuffSize);
wpHelpText = (AECHAR*)MALLOC(nBuffSize * sizeof(AECHAR));
if(!wpHelpText || !(nRet = ISHELL_LoadResString(pMe->a.m_pIShell,APPSTRINGS_RES_FILE,IDS_HELP_TEXT,wpHelpText,nBuffSize)) )
{
if(wpHelpText)
FREE(wpHelpText);
RELEASEIF(pMe->m_pIStatic);
return;
}

Hi
please check this.
1. IDS_HELP_TEXT resource ID is available in Bar File with RESTYPE_STRING. If yes then
2. check that resource Bar file is available on application folder in which DLL present. If yes then
3. try to open this Bar using IFileMgr for cross check that we are able to access it. If this case is also succeed then please post code. :D
:)

Hi Vishal,
I am getting this error in Simulator only. Where as the same code is working fine on device. Don't know why?

You did not say whether you checked the things that vishal bhandari mentioned, but another thing to check to is to make sure that APPSTRINGS_RES_FILE and the actual file name having matching case (preferably all lower case).
