Breakpoints in VS2008

Forums:

Hi,
I have just started getting familiar with the new BMP and widgets UI.
However when I try to run an application built with Visual Studio 2008 it doesn't stop to the breakpoint I have set.
Also, sometimes it doesn't even launch the application and in the simulator it is just display a message saying that an error occurred and application cannot be launched.

What is the correct way of setting up the debug environment?
Thanks for any help.

Actually it was specified in the documentation (although in one line ;) ):
the debug mode must be set to native only.
This way breakpoints work.

As it comes to the error I am experiencing when trying to launch an application from VS2008, I get the following message:
"An Error occurred when starting the application."
And in the output window I can see the following:
14:35:00:437 appmgrdaemon.c:116 - SysError: type=0 cls=0x010857A3
14:33:17:390 soundeffectsactor.c:554 - No file to play

Yeah. I am experiencing the same problem. Have you figured out the reason behind it yet?
Thanks!

Is this running your application? Or is this running it after you have set a break point? Does this occur when you create a simple application out of the Wizard?

After I installed REV 2.2 and I turned the background mode off, I don't experience it anymore. Weird.

Thx maranza, it helped :-) Additionally I'm also setting path for debug folder in options -> Debug

Hi,
I've also hit this problem.
I've tried on VS2005 and VS2008, with:-
Simulation Core: v 5.0.7.431
BREW(R): v 5.0.2.1 Build 857806
Battery Plugin: v 1.0.7.11
SimTelephone: v 1.0.0.0 Build 830221
And I get the message:-
"An error occcurred when starting the application."
I can also see in the log the messages:-
16:09:55:080 soundeffectsactor.c:554 - No file to play
I built for debug. This application was previously running ok on BREW 3.1.5.
Any help to fix this would be gratefully received. ;-)

VS 2005 express edition IDE is not supported for debugging with the new simulator. The reason is lack of plugin support. The plug in is used to connect with the new simulator and also to specify the package (group of files) that you want sent over to the target (simulator target or device).
