unable to run heap analyzer on simulator

Forums:

Am trying to follow the 'ResolvingInterfaceLeaks' doc to track down a leak in my program, but after setting things up, I always get the following response from the "Walk Heap" button

Loading HeapDbgHelper.dll... Returned: 1720647680

Loading ConnectGW.dll... Returned: 1523843072

Error during Walk Heap. Returned: 3

Any idea what the error means, and how to proceed?

This is on a win7 box. Have tried launching both with and without 'RunAs Administrator' option. No difference. Get same result on a different WinXP box. The simulator/target seems to otherwise work without problems (e.g., when debugging from visual studio)

thanks.

which simulator target did u use?
which document do u refer as "ResolvingInterfaceLeaks"?

it seems to be an issue with the SDK toolset 7.11.6.0.1827480.

try installing or enabling the prior version of SDK Manager Toolsets - 7.11.2.0.1638681. It should work.

remember to delete & re-create the Target before running the HeapAnalyser on the Prior toolset.
the issue is actually the HeapAnalyser components which get installed on simulator, hence you need to recreate the simulator Target.
