Loading an app on the T720

Forums:

I am trying to load a BREW app on a test-bit enabled Motorola T-720

The app loader indicates all the files have been moved to the device. I can see the files using the App loader directory/file view.

However, the application never shows up on my device.

I've tried resetting the device after uploading the module and it still does not work.

The MIF file is a 1.x version.

The devic eis activated on the Verizon Wireless network.

Do you have sent the signature file as well? (just in case..)

If the SIG were missing he'd recevie an error message while uploading the module.
Make sure to power-cycle the phone. Turn it off and back on check if you can see the application then. Every time you add a new MIF file to the system you will have to do this becasue MIF files are intialized upon startup, it seems.

Oh, you're right. I have missed that part of his message. My bad.
Who's drag-and-dropping in AppLoader anyway??? :D

I'm having a similar problem with a Samsung SCH A530 - apploader appears to load the app (using drag and drop). Power cycle the handset and back on again and as soon as I select brew shop the app I just put on disappears again in the apploader window.
What was the problem with the MIF file incidentally?

I don't drag-and-drop manually, but some of us do use the Perl interface to load file-by-file via a script: this way one can achieve quicker loads by just copying stuff that has changed.
The downside, of course, is that your script can have errors or omissions which ultimately give you the same errors as a botched drag-and-drop.

HI people,
I have a similiar kind of problem , but with VX4400,
I get the app loadded into the device using apploader, with its SIG file also, and i do the power cycle, and now i can see the icon of my app in the device Brew app folder, but when i select-execute the app, nothing happens.... it looks asthough i never pressed the "Go" button.
What could be the problem ??? this happens to any app i try to run after sucessful load to this device. as Dragon said, if SIG was missing then the app should throw a error ! , it never does.
I have another problem with the device, might be the problems are interlinked, so i am throwing that problem also here... The device was brought from US, and is right now in India where we tried to make it live by seeking one of the big operators here, they did programmed the device for making it network live, but they said that their server is not picking up the ESN number of the device, which should happen automaticly when the device gets live, I went to the LG cust care here, and they said, the SID and NID of the device should be set using LGDP program, and they don't have the required device specific DLL for that to be done... simply because this device model is not sold in India. So I have to send the device back to US for rectification...
1. Can i get the said DLL anywhere in net so i can give it to the LG people here and make the required enablings ??
2. Will this be the source or have any link with the problem I stated first ?? (As programs were working when I first tried on when the device was fresh , before gettting it to the operator for network live.)

Who DOESN"T drag and drop should be the question?
=p
What do you all 'crate module' ? Any time I have ever gotten an error with Drag and drop I get the identical error with create module command (ie: EFS low level error).
