Two quick menu questions

Forums:

1. How can I put multiple lines of text on a menu item (without horizontal text scrolling)?

2. How can I use a rectangular image as the "selected" item background, rather than a solid color? The menu text, would then be placed over the image.

Sample code, is always welcome!

Thanks in advance,
Martin

you cant do either with the default menu control.
write your own menu control implementaton.

Since everyone seems to be writing "custom controls", is anyone creating a public library of sample code?
Thanks,
Martin

Martin, I haven't seen any. I'd love for there to be one.
How is this normally done, does someone setup their own site? or perhaps setup a section on some open-source website?
We should make a Poll to find out what folks would be game for. It'd be a nice change to make this particular realm of coding a little more open.

You're more than welcome to use the Developer-Submitted Guides board for this purpose. It's not like it's being used for guides as it is. :p

Hmm...that seems like it'd do! So who's gonna post first?
I could post a simple logger. Someone else could post a stack-checker.
There's a ton of small utilities to post.

Thanks Max, so let's rename it "Sample code", so that everyone knows.

I'd need to get an admin to do that...I'll change the sticky thread in there to better describe the board, and we'll see how it goes. Anyway, sample code is kind of like a guide. :)

Totally, "Code Guide!" nah... "Suds"? nah...
"Developer-Submitted Guides and Tools"?

Max,
Any chance on getting the forum "Developer-submitted Guides" renamed to "Developer-submitted Sample Code and Guides"?
Thanks,
Martin
