Game freezes for a sec when releasing keys.

Forums:

Hi, I am having a problem that I'm not quite sure how to fix, so I thought I'd post here.

In my app, when keys are released, my game freezes for about a second then resumes. This behavior even occurs when I have commented out EVT_KEY_RELEASE or anything that seems to be related. It's not that my phone is messed up either because other apps on the phone do not exibit this behavior. I'm using a VX7000...Any insight as to what this could be? Also it freezes when pressing totally unrelated keys such as the camera button.

hard to say, what happens if you remove your event loop altogether ?

Well, I commented out the code in my event handling function, and it still occurs. I've also tried changing the permissions in my MIF...

Can you dup it in the emulator?

Nope, it doesn't happen in the emulator...
it does happen on different Vx7000s though.

Have you checked known issues on the DDS? I know there was
at least one phone that sent a suspend when rapid keystrokes were
pressed.

Well, it doesn't say that in the Known Issues, but thanks, I'll investigate that myself...

Nope, as far as I can tell there are no Stop or Suspend events being sent. I fired up the ol AppLogger, put some DBGPRINTFs in EVT_APP_SUSPEND and EVT_APP_STOP, and I did not see them. It only seems to happen with my app too. I've compiled other apps and they seem fine.

Well, I fixed the problem. It was something that appeared to be completely unrelated. There was some bad sprite drawing code that I replaced. I had older versions that did not exhibit the problem, and used a diff utility to put in and take out differences. It took a while but that whittled it down to a sprite drawing function.

I have the same problem TedC. Can you give some more details about what was wrong? Perhaps I can extrapolate for my code. I also think there is a draw problem, but I reall can't pin-point it.
