Crack at the beginning of sound playback on Moto 710

Forums:

Recently we faced some weird problem. When sound is started on Motorola V710 you can hear loud crack noise. Sometimes it's quite loud, some times less - it seems it depends on actual sound, however you can definitely hear it nearly 100% of time. Not only in BREW (we checked our own apps and several third-parties), but also in native ringtone preview.

Is there any workaround?
I didn't find this in known issues list for Motorola.

What sound are you trying to to play? QCP, MIDI or something else?

We tried following sounds:
- MIDI: loud crack
- MP3: soft crack
We didn't tried QCP, since it was not required for our app.
It seems that crack is most loud then sound is played from file, not from memory and where's one strange dependency on file size - for files with less than 3kb crack sound is most loud.

I just found this on the BREW site which may be related.
https://brewx.qualcomm.com/bws/content/docx/devices/docs/motorola/known_...
which lists the following known issue:
Sound pops when ringers are previewed in BREW
When a ringer is previewed by IRingerMgr, a small popping sound can be heard before the ringer is played.

Yep, Qualcomm recently added this issue to known issues list. Unfortunately it was not true at the time of original question.
