subscription + number of usage

Forums:

I checked out the iLicense interface and some posts here related to it. But I am still not very clear. Hope someone here can help me out.

(1)Is it possible to use both subscription + number of usage license? For example, the application is based on subscription (monthly charge), but some features will charge users per download.
Is it possibile for BREW handle this kind of billing?

(2)How does the user buy new usages after the number usage is decreased to 0? Can this be triggered by the application?

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your help, Max.
Can the "Application Value Billing", A-VB, be used for handling such kind of billing (subscription + usage)?

Quotes from Application Value Billing Document:
Application Value Billing (A-VB) "provides you with an ability to serve content associated with incremental or differentiated billing within an application. For example, a user buys a car racing game, and, within the game itself, the user is presented with the ability to buy a new racetrack or a new car. Or, an end user subscribes to an application monthly and purchases additional items like ring tones, wallpapers, or image storage. In addition, A-VB also allows you to offer differentiated billing; that is, to charge more for high value content (for example, a wellknown artist's branded ring tone) than standard content. "

I am also wondering if major carriers in US (Verizon, Alltel) support A-VB. Thank you very much.
"The following technology is necessary to support A-VB capabilities:
- BREW Client version 2.1 or higher.
- The operator must have the proper BDS infrastructure in place. Contact the
operator for information.
- The IBilling public extension made available on the BREW Developer Extranet"

This comes a little late but i hope that it will come handy to someone. We had a similar scenareo here. We wanted to charge a subscription for part of the app and uses for the other part. Value billing needs brew 2.1, our demographic target has phones with brew 2.0x, so no chance. We solved it by splitting the app in modules. main module is a per subscription app which in turn gives access to other apps. those are made on a per use lisence.
hope it helps.
