Shading of Background on Modal Dialog Boxes

Forums:

We are trying to create a screen with a dialog box that pops up over the main screen. Is it possible that when the dialog pops up, the background screen gets fogged or dimmed e.g. when a call is ended an End Call Popup is shown and background call is dimmed or fogged ?

Yes, this is possible. However, you'd need to create your own implementation.

thanks Max, for your response
Could you please provide some tips as to how I can go about this ?
Is fogging the background screen using OGL a possibility ?

Its been a long time since this post... but I would like to do something similar in terms of making the background a bit lighter or fogged out when a dialog pops up.
Would appreciate it if some one could post some pointers or ideas on how to go about doing this.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried blitting a transparent image on top of your device bitmap?

Max, thanks for your reply.
I did try it but it seems like the image I am generating to blit on top of the device bitmap isnt correct. It shows up as white ....
I am using a transparent PNG image, that I am blitting on top, using IImage_draw.
Can someone post a sample of the image they use as the transparent image? Would appreciate it a lot.
Thanks in advance.
