Hi folks,

I'm trying to run test cae 3.4.3 on my LG VX6000.

My app is not a screen saver app.

The VX6000 data sheet does NOT specify the default nonactivity timer value.

Basically my problem is that I don't know how to install a screen saver on to the device... or how to activate any pre-existing ones. I've even tried creating my own custome screen saver app; but it never gets launched... even when not running any other apps.

Does the VX6000 support screen savers.... is this test case applicable to this handset? If so any assistance in running the tests is appreciated.

thanks
Sul

Hey Sul,
I wouldn't worry about that test too much right now. I will try to find out for sure whether it is supported or not.

Hi all,
I have a similar issue with the LG VX6000, but even on a phone where the screen saver seems to generally work (the Kyocera 3225) running my app seems to prevent the screen saver from starting. Is there an event my app should be listening for? How can my app prevent the screen saver from starting? I'd like to try a different device, but then again, my LG doesn't seem to have a screen saver at all and I can't find one to download....
Thanks,
adam

If you return true to EVT_APP_NO_SLEEP then no screen saver will be launched.

Hey, thanks.
I should have mentioned that I'm on 1.1. APP_NO_SLEEP is not defined there, so I tried a case with BUSY and BUSY+1. Still doesn't work. I will keep trying to muck about with it and post a message if I come up with anything interesting.
Thansk again kUfa

Np! Btw good luck!

I haven't solved the problem yet, but in debugging i found a couple of things that might be of interest:
1) I'm never receiving any event after just sitting there some time -- nothing but key presses if i do them, and nothing at all if i don't.
2) when i first populate one of my soft key menus, i get an event 207 which is defined in AEE.h as "EVT_CTL_SKMENU_PAGE_FULL"
but I'm not missing any buttons, so it doesn't seem bad. Other times (not sure when) I get a 208, which isn't even defined in the headers.
I will contact brew support about this and post again when i have something.

okay, I'm a yutz. I didn't notice that test 3.4.3 only applies to brew 2.0 and later; i'm running on a 1.1, so it's not expected to work. sorry to bother. if it makes anyone feel any better about it, i spent half a day trying to figure this out....
adam.
p.s. brew support said not to worry about those softkey-full events. don't you just love "normal" errors?
