Forums:

in mif editor, there is a flag for applet, that is pop-up flag.
from qualcomm document, it said:

Indicates that the device screen on the handset should not be cleared when the applet is launched. If it is not selected, BREW clears the contents of the device screen before launching the application. Generally, this feature should not be selected.

but, when i write a test app to verify this. the result is , whether i select pop up flag or not, before the app be launched, the screen remained and will not be cleaned, until the app do some display operation.

then, who can tell me, what is the exact use of this flag, pop-up

thanks a lot

The popup flag determines whether the device bitmap will be cleared or not when the app is launched. For the clear screen operation to actually be visible on the screen, IDISPLAY_Update() must be called by the app. This causes the device bitmap contents to be copied to the LCD.
