Hi everyone,

I'm using IPOSDET_GetGPSInfo API to get the GPS fixes.

What do I need to do in terms of code, privilege or settings, in order to get an Assisted GPS (AGPS) fix?

What I have done is:

1) Enabled all the privileges using Resource Manager.

2) Added AEECLSID_LOCATIONSERVER as a dependency.

3) Set the mode to AEEGPS_MODE_TRACK_LOCAL.

4) Given the Server Type as AEEGPS_SERVER_IP.

5) Entered the PDE server as "supl.google.com" and Port number as 7276.

6) I'm calling IPOSDET_GetGPSInfo and I have registered a callback.

When I use AEEGPS_MODE_TRACK_STANDALONE, I'm getting the fixes correctly, without any problem.

But when I use AEEGPS_MODE_TRACK_LOCAL I'm not getting any fixes. I have also used IPOSDET_GetSectorInfo, but I'm not getting any lat, lon values either.

The SIM card I'm using establishes GPRS connection flawlessly.

I have also tried the modes like AEEGPS_MODE_TRACK_NETWORK and AEEGPS_MODE_TRACK_OPTIMAL, but no luck.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Using AEEGPS_MODE_TRACK_LOCAL, I'm able to get only the GPS fixes directly from the satillite.
But once the open-sky visibility is lost, I'm not getting any callback notification regrading the fixes. My question is, in spite of giving the PDE server and Port details, why is that I'm not able to get the GPS fixes?
Is there anything else that I need to do in order to get the assistance GPS fixes?

Hi guys,
Can anyone please help me on this? :(

did you check the sampleposdet App and try using it to get the fix? which device are you using.

Yes I did. But it did not work even with the PDE Server IP address and Port number.
I used supl.google.com as the PDE server (74.125.31.192) and Port number as 7276. But I did not get the assistance GPS latitude and longitude information. I gave a high QOS value so that it can take a long time to timeout. That also did not work.
Only STANDALONE and TRACK_LOCAL(with GPS visibility) works. Once the GPS visibility is cut off, I'm not getting the GPS position information.
Is there anything that I'm missing?
I appreciate your help. Thanks.

which device are you using?

I using a IEMD6055 module, which acts as an Air Card (it has no display and keypad).
This device is used for tracking purpose and needs the GPS assistance when there's no line of sight with the satillite.
I want to know, when I call IPOSDET_GetGPSInfo, where does the GPS with assistance data notifiy me? Is the same callback through which the standalone fixes are notified from or is it through a different callback?
Thanks ppl.

its the same callback.

its the same callback.

Thanks for the reply spratap.
I think I'm doing everything right from the code's perspective. But missing something when it comes to the PDE IP Address and Port Number.
I tried giving the PDE IP Address as "supl.google.com" with port number "7276".
I'm not getting any fixes. Does it have anything to do with passing the GPS information from the lower layers to the application? Does the OEM layer need to notify the application or anything of that sort?
I'm just trying to think on various lines here.

Debug through module and try to check how the request and response from PDP server behavious in the 2 different cases.
open sky visibility is mandatory only for only Standaloe GPS.
