You are talking about which india where only two operators r in market and where 98% handsets are in Brew 2.0 or 2.1 enables.OR Which world only U.S is not a whole world.
In this technology not much company r working and also not much developer supports. All things are wholly Whole and sole army in Qualcomm's hands.
Not much independency.
Programmer hands are technically blocked by its self BREW.

Hi Vikrant,
I agree with ur view...
Brew has kept much restrictions on developers..
Qualcomm should act to promote brew in much broader ways so that it can grow in its full swing....

its not so, that there are no requirement for brew developers. You shifted from j2me to brew, itself tells that you are a flexible developer. Look, to be frank, dont keep language constraints if you want to become a programmer, Its just a tool.
There is no need to think about a field change, i am assuming that you are changing the field of a programmer, and becoming an HR.
If you are thinking about changing the language, well its your call.
Whichever language gives you satisfaction, you should follow that.. You know J2ME as you mentioned, now you know BREW. Try .NET if you want and then decide what you need.
There are a lot of requirements in bombay itself for brew developers and so is the case in banglore too...
Try and find out the right place and right technology to work with
