Hi,

While going through BREWMP-Multiplatform document i have read that CONNECT(A PROTOCOL THAT MOVES MESSAGEG BETWEEN A PC AND A DEVICE) replaces BTIL.

But i could not find much information about this CONNECT protcol. I have following queries regarding CONNECT.

1.How different is CONNECT protocol different from BTIL?
2.Which version of BREWMP has started using CONNECT?
3.is it ok if we continue with BTIL instead of CONNECT?
4.What is the reason to opt for CONNECT when there is BTIL.?
5.Does CONNECT support PERL scripts to automate the test proces?

Thanks in anticipation.

APAIK, Connect is new version of BTIL. It still uses btilmain and btilsec modules and BTILDIR environment variable.
Connect is supported on devices running Brew MP, and may already be pre-installed on your device.
For information on writing applications that utilize BTIL APIs, refer to the BTIL Primer on the Brew MP web site.
For more information on connecting to your device, see the Device Primer on the Brew MP web site.

HI Atul,
Thanks for the information.
So can i take it for granted that what ever the methods we follow for BTIL can be follwed for CONNECT.
Can i know where i will be able to get some information on how to use CONNECT(some thing like connect primer) and whether it supports PERL scripts for automation or not?

Yes, you can still use BTIL for app development. See BTIL primer on BMP site. As of now there isn't any doc on connect; you can register for updates on BMP site that way you can know whenever anything is added to the site.
PERL scripts are still supported.

Thanks atul. Thanks for all the confirmations.
