Hi all,

I try reinstall many times but can't fix this. Please tell me what's problem is and how to fix.
Thank you.

Hi,
Have you installed all the prerequisite software listed on the SDK Download page? If so, can you tell us about your system environment?
I.e
Windows Version
Language/Regional Settings
What do you see if you open a command window and type: set brew
Thanks,
Karina

I have the same problem.
Installation is successful, but nothing is installed, all it does is it sets two environment variables. If I delete the variables and install again, I am asked where I want to install.
I have Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3.

This is true both for the newest SDK and an old SDK installer (7.4). The old one has worked before, so something is very strange.

Do you have some kind of firewall such as Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows  that may be causing the install to fail silently? Can you please check for this? Here's a related FAQ: https://developer.brewmp.com/forum/can-firewall-settings-affect-operatio...

I unplugged the ethernet cable and turned off both firewall and antivirus. No change. With ethernet cable plugged in and firewall on, the firewall logs show no refused connection.

If I uninstall the Visual Studio C++ 2010 Redistributable, the 7.10 rev 12 version fails complaining about the missing requirement. The 7.4 version however just prinst an error: Unable to configure platform repository directory (-1073741819)

Uninstalling the 2008 redistributable as well makes the 7.4 version behave as previously. The 7.10 version complains about both missing packages.

Manually unpacking the BMP_SDKMP_7.10.12_SETUP.exe with 7zip and running the installers found there successfully installs the SDK Manager and Toolset. Sofar I have however been unable to install any platform. When trying, I just receive the error "Unable to configure platform repository directory"

I found another thread dealing with the same issue:

He seems to have reached the same solution I have, though slightly differently. We are both stuck at the platform installation.

A colleague had the same problem. It seems to occur only if you are trying to reinstall on a machine that has had a Brew MP SDK installed before. Only solution found sofar is a complete wipe and reinstall of the OS.

Hi Culumeon,
Thanks for all of your updates and for trying to disable possible firewall issues. That doesn't sound right that you can't re-install SDK on a machine that previously had a Brew MP SDK installed. I'll try some more troubleshooting and see if I can reproduce your issue. The installer does more than just unzip the files, it also sets up some Brew MP environment variables among other things.

Yes, and setting two environment variables was all the installer managed to do.
I finally managed to get a working environment by circumventing the self-installers following these steps:

Download SDK
Unzip BMP_SDKMP_7.10.12_SETUP.exe
The unzipped folder contains 3 selfinstallers for Brew in addition to installers for prerequisites (Visual Studio Redistributables and .NET). Run first BREWMPSDKManager.exe and then BREWMPTools.exe. It will give an error that it cant set the platform, but otherwise all is well.
Extract the third selfinstaller, BMP_PLATFORM_1.0.2.488_SETUP.exe.
The unzipped folder contains a folder named $_OUTDIR. Copy the contents of that folder to C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Brew MP SDK\Platforms\1.0.2.547 (or whatever platform version you are using)
Start the SDK Manager and select the toolset and platform to be default.

You may have to manually add some environment variable, I´m not sure. My variables are listed below:
BREWMPSDK=C:\PROGRA~1\Qualcomm\BREWMP~1\PLATFO~1\102~1.547\platform
BREWMP_PLATFORM=C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Brew MP SDK\Platforms\1.0.2.547\platform
BREWMP_PLATFORMS_ALL=C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Brew MP SDK\Platforms
BREWMP_TOOLSET=C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Brew MP SDK\Toolset 7.10 Rev 12.0.1554878
BREWMP_TOOLSETS_ALL=C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Brew MP SDK
Following these steps I have successfully built and installed an application on HTC Smart (flashed with a new Brew version to support developer mode)
