Hi all,

I have connected phone to the computer through "DATA CABLE" (not wireless ,because it is not supported in our country).

Now is it possible to communicate between an app running on the phone and the computer to which it is connected using socket programming?

Please see the thread

http://brewforums.qualcomm.com/showthread.php?threadid=4180&goto=newpost

Here What is the reason for not calling the specified "callback" function .
Because the phone is connected through "data cable" or because of something else.

Thank you.

hi...
i think if u have network then your app can communicate with the PC with socket programming...
i don't know how to do it when data cable is used... (one way may be use applogger and DBGPRINTF)

if you want to do communication through the serial port, look into the Iport API.. i dont think its supported til at least 3.0 though, and i dont think any current handsets support it yet..
if you are looking to get network functionality on the phone in an area without network connectivity it basically cant be done.
