Hi,

Is it possible for me to have my task execute aysynchronously in the BREW environment. I know that most of the interfaces execute time consuming tasks aysynchronously and report back to a callback function with the status.

I want to implement something like this.

1) I have a interface INEWInterface that has a start fucntion.
2) When a BREW application creates an instance of this interface it also registers a callback function for the interface obj to send the status messages to.
3) When the app calls the start method, the interface object executes a task aysyncrhously and sends the result back to the call back function.

Now, I think I can implement using call backs but I am not sure if my task execution is a asynchronous process.

What I am looking for is somthing similar to Threads or Active Objects in Symbian.

Appreciate your thoughts.

hi r@I,
yes callbacks are equvalent to Active objects in symbianOS.

You can also try splitting intensive processing with timers (such as loops).
