I am trying to create a menu that consists of a variety of elements and I'm not entrely sure if it's possible to do this in Brew at all, without going for a custom display routine. But maybe someone with a bit more experience using Brew's UI elements has a few answers for me.

I have some continuous header text that should wrap, followed by a number of selectable menu entries. Also, each of the menu entries should have an icon as part of the entry. The icon would be on one line, the text on the second line.

Any ideas how this could be achieved, anyone?

Write your own menu control. :)

Think writting powerful ui classes for brew is
not good idea.
Better use raw api.
The chance to reuse( or write good ui classes ) is low

The raw API looks terrible. The BREW GUI is almost totally useless because of its lack of customzation and pure ugliness. I reuse my custom static control all the time. I'm not quite sure what you mean.

Just wanted to say that powerful ui classes like MFC CEdit are
inaccessible

Oh yeah--I wouldn't suggest writing anything like that. My custom GUI is pretty basic...but it's necessary to write your own GUI components to get your application to actually look good. I just wish there was more font control/settings. I don't like to use my own bitmap fonts for localization issues. But the existing font options are totally inadequate.
