Would be nice to get an EVT_NOTIFY from the filemanager about changes - at least of the shared directory.

As an example, many phones stick camera images in a subdirectory of /shared. It's not possible to hook into the native camera application to find out when an image has been captured - but if we could observe /shared, we wouldn't need to - we could spot the new image file, and run our image handling application.

Yes, I agree. I filed an enhancement CR some time back to add "the ability to register for notification on changes to the address book or directories/files in the filesystem", and it's currently still in consideration.

Hi,
I want to write a application that can intercept the file system calls even by other applications on the phone.
Eg: if any application writes anything to file system say, MMC card, then my application should get notification.
Is is possible?
~thanks
Sam

Not in BREW 3.x. No idea about 4.x, the SDK isn't out yet (well it is, but only for KDDI developers).
