When flip is closed in clamtype handset, a KEYGUARD is send to handset to freeze all the keys.

But how are the keys in the subside and top side? We also need to use them even the flip is closed?

I have the same problem. We're developing for hardware we don't have yet. We need to be able to detect volume up and down as well as soft key presses. The actual phone will provide the user with access to soft keys when flip is closed (the external screen is pretty large). I've created a skin with an external display and volume up and down keys, and that works, but the keys are all disabled when flipped.
We really really need this ASAP. If/when I get an answer somewhere else I'll post it here. I promise!!

We're developing for a phone that will have access to the soft keys even when the clamshell is closed. We don't have hardware yet, so I need to develop on the simulator. I have the external screen working in the simulator, but all of the keys are disabled when flipped. How can I tell the simulator NOT to disable certain keys? Thanks.
