Hi

I need the ESN number of the handset in my applet.

Was wondering if the AEE_DEVICEITEM_MOBILE_ID is the same as the ESN number in hex of the cell phone.

Is this true ? If not then how can i get the ESN of the handset.

Appreciate your response.

regards

I think that _was_ designed to give out the platform ID.
It does not seem from previous postings that it is
realiable in that regard.

Not that I know of. Of course, it has to be in there somewhere.
I suspect that one could find an undocumented way to get it.
It would just require contemplating how it is currently used,
and what would be going on when it would be being referenced.
What do you need it for?

I need a unique property of the device on which my applet will be installed. We need to maintain a sort of unique UserID for each handset and this will be stored in the DB ( server side). I will use this UserID to make all the Posts and Retrieve data from the server.
If not the ESN .. is there any other unique property of the device that i can grab programtically ????
Thanks in advance

It might be possible to combine phone number and device id (using ISHELL_GetDeviceInfo) and generate a unique id.
