If you are writing an applet, your applet is sort of a global, accessible anywhere through GETAPPINSTANCE. So historically we used our applet structure to hold all globals. And we have also developed numerous C functions that internally use macros that eventually translate to GETAPPINSTANCE.

Now we need to write an extension (an uiOne actor to be exact), instead of an applet, but need to reuse those functions already developed.

So, my question here is whether there is an API, or any other way to fake the same effect as GETAPPINSTANCE. The idea is that this API would return some user-defined structure that is globally accessible in the extension.

Thanks,
Jian

if i am not wrong you can make a function in the extension that internally fills the req. value using GETAPPINSTANCE()

Hi Sunil,
Since I am an extension, I don't own the applet structure. Thus there is no place in the applet where I can stick our structure in.
Am I missing something? Would you mind providing a code snippet describing your suggestion?
Thanks,
Jian
