Hi, I've been fighting the issue of getting the BREW Apploader to recognize my Nokia 6235i and have been coming up short. I've found the following thread, http://brewforums.qualcomm.com/showthread.php?t=6074&highlight=nokia, which gave me some ideas, but I still can't connect to my device. Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated. So far, I've done the following:

My Hardware:
Nokia 6235i
USB Data Cable DKU2

What I've done:
1) Installed the DKU2 drivers from the technical resources section at brew.ext.nokia.com ( file Nokia_DKU2_Driver_145[1].7.msi, version 145.7 )

2) Installed the Nokia dll suite from brew.ext.nokia.com (file NokiaApploader2_2_2.exe to my "Program Files\Brew Tools Suite 3.0.0" folder).

3) Attached my 6235i to the computer via a DKU2 data cable.

4) The device was recoginized on the USB (no hub in place) and the drivers were loaded.

5) Launched BREW Apploader (Version 3.0.0.12)

6) Attempt to connect to device with the following settings (device connected to = USB1, device BREW ver = 2.x, connect using = NokiaAppLoader.dll)

7) Connection fails with: "Error - Could not connect to the device using spedified device id"

This sucks. I can connect to other devices (i.e. LG5450) without issue. I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded the Nokia PC Suite 6.6 from (http://www.nokiausa.com/support/software/1,1831,,00.html) and can talk to it fine that way, of course you can only load java apps in that manner. But, at least I know that I can talk to it. So, it must be something with the AppLoader. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.

Here's another thought... do Nokia devices HAVE to be test-bit enabled to talk to the AppLoader? On other vendors you can at least see the file system if it's not, but maybe the Nokia's different? Is there any other way to tell if the Nokia's test enabled or not? I got it from a customer and it was supposed to be test enabled. Maybe it's not. Hmm.

Did you install that "famous" tss_communication_api.exe?
Let me know if you need this file: eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%68%6c%69%6e%40%69%64%65%74%69%63%2e%63%6f%6d%22%20%63%6c%61%73%73%3d%22%62%62%2d%65%6d%61%69%6c%22%3e%68%6c%69%6e%40%69%64%65%74%69%63%2e%63%6f%6d%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b'))

Thanks for the help! I uninstalled the Nokia_2_2_2 AppLoader. Then I ran the infamous tss_communication_api.exe followed by the NokiaAppLoader2_2.exe. After this, I connected the 6235, fired up the AppLoader v3.0 and was able to read the filesystem over USB1 with the NokiaAppLoader.dll selected. However, I was still unable to load a module to the phone or create files/directories. Looks like the device we've got is probably not test enabled after all (?), so it's off to the lab to have the test-bit set. We'll see what happens when we get it back. Thanks again for the private mails and posts here are elsewhere on the boards. I don't know where I'd be without all of us in the 'BREW underground'.
