Hi,

I have included IMediaMPEG extension to SDK 3.1.5. But still
nRet = ISHELL_CreateInstance(pMe->pIShell,
AEECLSID_MEDIAMPEG4,
(void **)&pMe->pIMedia);

returns NULL...

Is there any other procedure to for including extension??

Thanks,
Karthik.

The extension doesn't work for Simulator versions greater than 3.1.2.

It should work on 3.1.2. Where are you trying to create the IMediaMPEG4 instance? I have a vague memory of ISHELL_CreateInstance not working in the Simulator if you called it in AEEClsCreateInstance() or in the EVT_APP_START handler. Try moving it to a key event handler.

Did you extract the zip file with the proper path location? You need to extract to your BREW 3.1.2/sdk directory ad preserve folder names.
Are you using a device pack that supports MPEG4 (such as the provided device pack 3)?
Are you using the 3.1.2 Simulator?
What happens when you play the provided test2_mp4_96k_aac_32k.3g2 file with the mediaplayer example? If you've installed the extension properly, Mediaplayer should play the test MPEG4 sample file.

Hi,
Today I just download IMediaMPEG4 extension package from the Qualcomm BREW extenet. I unzipped the package in my BREW 3.1.5 SDK directory. I tried to run the mediaplayer, but it failed.
Does anybody know how to make it works on the BREW simulator? Thanks a lot!

I tried to copy the dll file under BREW SDK 2.1.3, but it does not work

No, it requires 3.1.2.

No, it requires 3.1.2.

Yes the extension works in BREW 3.1.2, several months back when it was released first I validated it, what is kind of surprising to me is that QCOMM didn't make it work in BREW 3.1.4 or 3.1.5 version of the simulator. Isn't these binary to be backward compatible, so the binary what worked in the older version of BREW should work in the newer version of BREW!

For mpeg-video playback we would need the special DLL. The problem is that Qualcomm does not make it public. am i right..
Or can we play the video..

Hi.,
I have extracted IMediaMPEG4.zip to the BREW sdk directory.
I am using the 3.1.2 simulator with devicepack3., but still not able to play the video file. i.e., "test2_mp4_96k_aac_32k.3g2"
The audio files are playing properly., but when I click the "test2_mp4_96k_aac_32k.3g2" file nothing is happening.
Where I am going wrong???
I copied one more file media.mp4 to the media directory, and I am not able to see it in the list that emulator shows
What is the problem??

Hi, I have installed MediaMPEG4 successfully in BREW 3.1.2 and using the devicepack3 as suggested. I am able to run the sample .3g2 file once in mediaplayer application. but some times the application is not getting MM_STATUS_DONE after completion of the file and keep running. If u stop the file at this moment and try to run again nothing will happen.
is anybody else observe this behavior???

IMEDIAMPEG4 is pretty buggy, has load of problems at least in BREW 3.1.2, try with BREW 3.1.5 simulator

You can possibly try changing bit rate and size.
