I went thru all the posts related to lbs applications and apis used but codunt get a ideal way for me to achieve my goal....

We are thinking to do an application based on cell id/tower id to find out the location of an user,

1. We dunt have devices support/oem support or career infrastructure to use Iposdet apis, so its void to discuss about those apis..

Strange thing is i chked using sector info to get base station id, i managed to get it but i get different values each time i try with this api (may be one or two times i got same value)in v3c, but Huwaei 2900i does not support this api?? so im confused to use this..

2. I tried Itelephone, Itapi, Deviceex but no use i cudunt manage to get tower id though we can manage nid which is of nt my use..

can any body please tell me hw to manage tower id of a user without using iposdet apis??? in india atleast hw lbs appl shuld be approached??

As I understand if Iposdet feature is not availalbe, gps support won't be present on the handset.

Using ITelephone API, you can get the Cell ID information from the phone, now from operator if you can get the table of the location of all the towers, then by using well known triangulation method you can find out the user's approximate location with some margin of error.
The above post says we can get celll id from itelephone but i wonder i really cudunt find any of it from it??
i chkd ITELEPHONE_GetServingSystemInfo but no usw , it only manages
nid

I have worked on brew porting, there is a feature for gps which requires to be enabled for it to work. The device pack will state if this is enabled or not.
