I use to be able to run loader succesfully to access the file system on my modull but now when I run it now I get a

Error: BTIL connection negotiation timed out...

If I click OK on the message, I get a "retrieving directory and file information..." pop-up and can see the file directory structure start to populate (very slowly) and it seems to hang on fs:/mod

I tried resetting the phone, no luck.

I can still load and run apps through the VS2008 normally.

Hi,
Are you facing this issue only with a specific device or all
other devices?
As you are saying you are able to run apps through VS2008
that means the DES is enabled and able to use the device in developer mode.
Did you try to connect the device in developer mode using
loader?
Kill all the processes related to BITL in task manger (or
restart the computer) and try connecting the device to loader by keeping the
device in developer mode.
Thanks & Regards

I'm only working with one device (an OEM module from Qualcomm).

I can connect to the device through ct.exe, Target Manager, and VS2008. Using Target Manager I was able to verif the device is in Developer Mode.

It seems like only Loader has a problem. I also noticed that BrewMPBTILServer.exe process is running whenever I try running Loader. I've tried killing the task and restarting Loader but I get the same error and the BrewMPBTILServer.exe process is back running again.

What could be forcing Loader to use BTIL instead of the USB bridge ?

QUALCOMM, please chime in.

QUALCOMM, please chime in.

Hi,
Can I know the BMP Toolset version you are using?
Did you try with "Loader" in "Brew MP Toolset 1.11.2" version of the toolset ?
Thanks & Regards

Sridhar,

Thanks for getting back to me - Steve

On the laptop (XP Pro SP3), I have
SDK Manager 1.0.1.15
Toolset 7.11.2.0.1638681
Loader 4.0.3.1094929

and on the PC (XP Home, SP3) , I have
SDK Manager 1.0.1.13
Toolset 7.10.12.0.1554878
Loader 4.0.3.1070243

If I leave the BTIL Connection Negotiation timeout pop up alone, I get another pop up that says
"Error - Could not detect any device with the specified device ID."

I attempted to upload images of the error messages but not sure if it'll come through.

Hi,
Please check if BMPBITLServer process is running when you
start loader?
Can you try connecting the device by killing
BMPBITLServer.exe process and any processes related to QPST?
If the problem still exists can you raise a case in support
portal with the device details (device model and build)?
The support portal link is https://developer.brewmp.com/forum
(on right side of the portal you can see “SUPPORT PORTAL” section you can login
and create  case)
Thanks & Regards
