BREW has spotty & incomplete support for its RTSP QTV player. Many of the 'features' don't quite work, etc... Having more control of the QTV player would be huge win when when trying to develop multimedia applications. Also, enabling support to link into certain system interrupts such as the timer interrupt. I know BREW lets you set Timers with callbacks but the timers do not preempt and thus applications that need precise timing are not possible.

If only the current implementation has less bugs. The behavior of IMedia is so unstable amongst the different handsets it is almost getting to a point of "write once, debug absolutely everywhere and find that it doesn't work at all".
There should be stricter Quality Controls on BREW enabled devices. Too many interfaces are broken. Just so happens that QTV (Fronted by IMedia on BREW) is the star of not-working-according-to-spec. :(
