Hi Everybody,
I have created .pmd file using CMX Studio. I am using brew 2.0. I am not able to play the PMD file. Brew 2.0 has an example called MediaPlayer. I copied my .pmd files to it. But it too is not able to play the .PMD Files. I have installed the all the three .dll files in BIN Directory. Could any body help me out. My own code snippet for playing the .pmd file is mentioned bellow for reference. It just shows a blue rectangle nothing else.

void Astro_PlayMidiFile(astroApp *pMe, const char* mFileToPlay)
{
int totTime=0;
AEERect rect; // New Code for CMD Files
Astro_StopMidiFile(pMe);
pMe->md.clsData=MMD_FILE_NAME;
pMe->md.dwSize=0;
pMe->md.pData = (char*)mFileToPlay;
rect.x = 0;
rect.y = 0;
rect.dx = pMe->di.cxScreen;
rect.dy = pMe->di.cyScreen;
if (AEEMediaUtil_CreateMedia(pMe->a.m_pIShell,&pMe->md,&pMe->m_pImedia)!=SUCCESS)
{
pMe->m_pImedia=NULL;
return;
}
IMEDIA_SetRect (pMe->m_pImedia , &rect, &rect);
IMEDIA_SetMediaData(pMe->m_pImedia,&pMe->md);
IMEDIA_Play(pMe->m_pImedia);
totTime=IMEDIA_GetTotalTime(pMe->m_pImedia);
ISHELL_SetTimer(pMe->a.m_pIShell,totTime,(PFNNOTIFY)Astro_ReplayMidi,pMe);

}

Did you install the CMX player extension into the SDK folder?

Yeh. I have installed the files. Now it is working fine. Can I use the PMD file as Ringtone or WallPaper?. If yes how to go about that. I have LG 6000 Handset that supports CMX 3.0. Please let me know

Check the DDS to see if CMX/PMD is listed as a supported ringer format.

Hey here one more thing you have to see. You should see the device chipset and PMD version. Both should synchronize. Please see the attached file.

Hi BraveBoy,
I know that. I have used PMD 3.0 and chipset is 6050.
But still I am not able to play it properly on handset, particularly the image and text, which I can see on my emulator but not on my handset. I am able to play the audio (MIDI) part. Any other reason ?????????
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
I got some problem related to PMD file. I have an download application where I can download PMD and MIDI files. While I am preview the .PMD file, I can hear the sound and view the image and text related to the PMD File. But once I save it as ringer I can only hear the sound. I am not able to view the text and image related to the PMD File. Any suggestion will be great help. Iam testing on Kyocera KX 444 handset.
