I'm trying to get an app to load onto a handset (Moto v325). I set up my app and got it to compile with the GNUARM 4.0.1 tools. Upon loading to the phone and resetting, the app shows up but when I try to run it, the screen flickers a bit then the phone reboots itself. I have tried endless fiddling with the link order (AEEModGen first), thumb interwork (disabled on AEE* files), etc.

I decided to try the whiteboard example with the GCC tools-provided makefile. I copied it all into a temp dir, fixed up the makefile (for some reason forward slashes were not working) and got it to generate a mod file. I loaded the mod on the device and still does the same thing.

The sig file was generated today, the ESN is correct, I did not provide an app name in the test sig (what are the effects of providing the app name anyway?).

Does anyone have any ideas? This is a real nightmare and I'm starting to really hate BREW with a passion.

Thanks for any insight...

got it. GNUARM 4.0.1 doesn't work apparently. Switched to GNUDE based on GCC 3.3.1 and it works.

You may need to compile AEEModGen.c with "-fno-unit-at-a-time" option to prevent function reordering.
My application works fine with GNUARM 4.0.2 in the same way as gnude.
