I'm loading applications onto Audiovox CDM-8945 successfuly using BREW AppLoader 3.0.0, but I can't find them anywhere.
Can anybody tell me why?

Well, when you download your app using AppLoader (Tool suite 3.0.0) what is the BREW version you have selected for your device? Cause if the device had BREW 3.x and you try to download the app using BREW 2.x then you would not be able to see the app from mobile shop. Plus did you reboot your handset after you downloaded your app into the device?

Are you sure your device is test enabled?

I'm having the same problem with a black 8945 (had a gray one earlier that worked fine), but I'm still trying to verify that it has been test enabled, since I'm several layers removed from the people who would be responsible for this.
Is there any way to check through the menus whether it is test enabled?
(I've also noticed that the pn215 has two different get it now screens both accessible through regular ui, and applications only show up on the old-style one. Maybe this is related?)

Yeah, the old-school AppManager shows up for the shotcut key when the device is test-enabled on the pn215...that's the way to launch cable-loaded apps.

The device is test enabled and it's a black 8945. Is it posible to be more versions of this model? Could that be the problem?

Are you absolutely certain that it's test enabled? Do you see other test applications in App Manager?

I'm having the same issue with the black Audiovox 8945 (Verizon). I'm also using AppLoader 3.0.0.12 and I'm pretty sure my device is test enabled.
I went to the App Manager and used a debug code, ###7, and it displayed on the screen the debug mode that I turned on, so that means it's test enabled right?
I can see from the AppLoader that the module is still in the file system. Has anyone solved this issue? Thanks

Check if the target handset supports all the API's that are used in the application. A long time back i had a problem similar to this one. I was trying to load an app which was using ISprite Interface. Later i found that ISprint was not supported for VX6000 and due to which the application got deleted.

No, the APIs you use within your application shouldn't impact whether the app is displayed or not. You might want to open a ticket with qishelp.qualcomm.com, be sure to attach the application that's giving you problems.

Ok, here's the deal on the CDM8945.
When you press the right directional key from the native idle screen, what do you see? If you see the GIN-themed window (the same one you see when you go to Menu -> Get it Now), your device is NOT test enabled and must be sent in for test enabling. Test enabled devices display the classic unthemed application manager when the right directional key is pressed from the native idle screen, which allows you to launch cable-loaded applications.
If you sent in your device for test enabling at the QIS phone center, there's a good possibility that the device was not properly test enabled (this phone is a little screwy because there are apparently two different test enable flags in the PST).
I'm going down to the phone center right now to tell them about this in the hope that there won't be many more mistakes on 8945s sent in for test enabling.

Thanks Max, just in time, I sent in my 8945 yesterday and the phone center received it this morning.
Anychance you can send us the PSTs? ;) It would save everyone a lot of time....

Thanks, it appears that my phone was not properly test-enabled. So we'll have to send it back to again.

Hi, we sent our Audiovox CDM 8945 to be test-enabled. It would appear that the tell-tale signs are evident: ###7 displays "async DBGPRINTF" and hitting D-Pad Right sends to the non-themed Get It Now screen. After I use BREW AppLoader v3 to load my game, it only shows up in the filesystem if viewing through AppLoader. There is no evidence of the application existing on the device. The device's app manager reports 0k memory used. Any ideas?

I got the phone back from Qualcomm for test-enabling (again) and it works. I didn't have any trouble loading once I got it back. Based on what you are experiencing, this is what I've come to know could be wrong
- sellected the wrong brew version in the apploader
- mif file is wrong (wrong verson or corrupted)
- you are using unsupported API calls in your module
- phone is out of memory

I recently sent a batch of 8945's to get test-enabled and I am having a problem with loading them. It seems that when I load the handset, it doesn't appear in the AppManager but will appear in the AppLoader as still there. I am using Apploader 3.x and I loaded it using Brew Version 2.x. Also when I press the right-directional key, it displays a different themed version of the AppManager. Let me know what I am doing wrong.

First I would make sure it's not a problem with the app. Try loading MaxFileCnt2. When you press right on the d-pad you see a different style of the AppManager... that is a good sign. Can you toggle Debug mode (by pressing ###7)?

Hi I sent my 8945's back to Qualcomm for re-test enabling and still the application does not load. The application is still on the handset, but will not show up on the AppManager. When I press the shortcut key to access the Brew AppManager, I get the old school themed AppManager so that means that it is test enabled. Not sure what else to do at this point.

I just loaded my program on this handset and I used the shortcut key to get to the AppManager, and I went into Get Extras and there were my games that I had loaded. I am wondering if this is normal and if NSTL would fail for this issue? Its strange that it would go into that folder.

Despite all the problems people have been having cable loading their apps to this device, it should not be a problem when your application goes through NSTL because they use OTA to put the applications on the phone. The application will appear in the "Get It Now" category that is it assigned to on the OTA server.
Just to summarize the above thread a little:
- People were having problems cable loading to the 8945
- Max said there are two test enable settings on this phone
- It turns out that as long as your device was test enabled properly, you should be able to load your app using BREW 2.x in apploader and find your app by pressing the RIGHT directional key and opening the "Extras" folder.

It was reported to me that the games are showing up when you access Get It Now with D-Pad right and then going down to Get Extras.
