Just a Quick question.

I am writing an extension class for my firm and there is some data that I need to put in the resource file.

1) Is it possible to have a resource file with a extesion. I havent tried it out yet and just wanted confirmation that this was allowed.

2) Is it possible for a applet to have more than one resource files ?

Thanks

Extensions can't have resource files. The extension will be running in the context of whatever app is using it, which won't have access to the extension's directory.
It is possible to store resources in the MIF file. The easiest way to do that is to save the MIF as an MFX and edit the XML just like you would a BRX file.
And an applet can have more than one resource file.

An extension runs in the context of the calling application. An extension can therefore create / access files only from the application's directory and from the shared directory.
Again there is problem with it , it's a restriction of brew that it will not allow you to read any resource file from "shared" folder.
I mean you can not use ISHELL_LoadResString() to read string from resource file, all you can do is to write your own BAR reader and treat BAR file as a simple file and extract whatever resources you want.

Thanks for the info guys...
The only reason I was thinking of having a resource file along with my extension is that I saw the files that came along with the XML Parser public extension and it has a bar file along with that...
neways ... I will stick to Dynamic memory allocation in my extension for now..
As far as applets are concerned ... I am working on a application that will be available to enterprise clients and I am basing some of my UI on Dialogs that I load from resource files. Each client will have a different dialog ... would it be possible for me to download a .bar file from my server after the applet has been installed on the users handset. The idea would be that the user enters a code that identifies the client on my server and I shoot the client specific .bar file to the users handset...
Any one done this yet ??? Is it possible or will my applet get thrown out during true brew testing ? I am doing something similar in series 60 with no issues.
