Ok, I've got an update for you.  This particular referenced document was removed as it contained deprecated information.  We are currently updating the document that references this.  Our plans are to have a Lua Tech Guide ready for release in the May/June timeframe.
Regards,
Brian

Thanks Brian! We see a lot of opportunities to take good advantage of Lua, will be looking forward to it :)

If you have any input into the documentation effort it would be useful to be sure material is included for those of us who are working in a "headless" (no user interface) environment.
We would very much like to use Lua for scripting extension invocations.  Being able to use it for both roles, implementation of extension components as well as being able to instantiate other extension components would be a great big plus.

Should have interesting framework available to your request at the end of April.  Look for CoLua.
