Icon definition for pictures in MyPIX Directory

On the Verizon "My Pix" directory, pictures are saved with "D" or "L" icon next to it. I assume the "L" means Locked. But what does the "D" indicate?
My application stores pictures in the shared directory and its automatically saved with the "D" icon. How can I change this file privilege?
