How to retrieve the characteristics of interface

Hi all ,
Is there any interface to obtain characteristics of interface in brew
I needs following information of the adapter being used for the communication.
- List of IP address associated with the interface.
- MAC address of the interface.
How i will get these information in brew .Is there Api to get all these information
Please help me
