Public (priced) extensions

Public extensions facilitate the rapid development of applications. When you use another developer’s public extension, the extension developer is paid through the price plan you set up for your using application (application that uses public extensions).

Each version of a public extension must have a unique Brew ClassID, even if you make an update that developers using your extension can benefit from. This prevents dependency issues that are set up in the extension’s MIF.

By default, extensions have implicit platform support; that is, they inherit the device platform support of the associated using application when it passes testing.
