Octet sequence is used to represent a MMS, SMS or EMS, message in binary encoded over-the-air (OTA) format. This allows third party applications to reuse their existing parser to parse the message. More specifically, binary encoded MMS Protocol Data Unit (PDU) as specified in the Multimedia Messaging Service Encapsulation Protocol (OMA-MMS-ENC-V1_2-20050301-A) is used to represent a MMS message. Transport Layer Message Format as specified in TIA/EIA-637-B is used to represent a point-to-point or broadcast CDMA SMS/EMS message. Transfer Protocol Data Unit(TPDU) as specified in 3GPP TS 23.040 is used to represent a GSM SMS/EMS point-to-point message, whereas the Message Format specified in 3GPP TS 23.041 is used to represent a GSM Cell Broadcast Service(CBS) message.
  • pData: pointer to the buffer storing (in) or to store (out) the

  • nDataLen: the length of the buffer in byte;
  • nDataLenReq: the minimum required buffer length to store the
                    entire OTA message.
  •    struct pim_IMessageStore_Message
          unsigned char* pData;
          int nDataLen;
