Eclipse Environment Setup

This section discusses the necessary software and environment setup to proceed through the primer steps.

Eclipse is the IDE used in this tutorial; however, any development environment able to generate DLLs is suitable for developing Brew MP applications to test on the Simulator. This primer assumes that you already have a working knowledge of the Eclipse IDE and the C programming language. 

Environment setup

The of the Brew MP website provides information about the required software to proceed through this primer. You should complete all the steps under Setup for C/C++ Environment - Eclipse.

Device setup

Steps to prepare your PC and Brew MP device for running Brew MP applications are covered in Device setup.

Install and setup Brew MP sample code

Brew MP sample code is provided with the Brew MP SDK. To access the samples, install them to your machine based on the following instructions:

  1. Run the samplecode installer from the SDK Manager Setup tab, and select the checkbox to include Eclipse files.
  2. Once the samplecode is installed, open Eclipse and select File > Import.
  3. In the import dialog, select General > Existing Projects into Workspace, then click Next.
  4. In the next dialog, browse the samplecode folder where the samplecode is installed. The Projects window displays all recognized projects.
  5. Select the checkbox to Copy projects into workspace, and click Finish.
