Import a Brew MP project to Eclipse

The Eclipse Plugin includes the capability to import a Brew MP application or extension to the Eclipse IDE.

The minimum files required for import are a .c , .cif and .bid file (with the same name as the project being imported). The Plugin checks the nature of the project, reading the .vcproj file if the project is a Visual Studio project, or the .project file if it is an Eclipse project. If neither file is present, a warning prompt will appear, with the message that the imported project may not build and the project is imported as an application. If it is a Visual Studio project, it will be imported as either a Brew MP application if there is any reference to AEEAppGen.c and AEEModGen.c, or as a Brew MP extension if there is any reference to AEEModGen.c and no reference to AEEAppGen.c. If it is an Eclipse project, it will be imported as either a Brew MP application or as a Brew MP extension depending upon the nature of the project specified in the .project file.

Importing a Brew MP application

  1. Within Eclipse select File > Import.
  2. Expand the Brew MP node, and select Brew MP Project.

  3. Click Next.
  4. Select Browse, and navigate to the location of the application you want to import.
  5. Once the application is selected, click Finish.
  6. The application will be imported to the Eclipse IDE.

Note: While importing, if the project to be imported has the same path as the current workspace, a warning message will be displayed: "Data can be lost while importing the project as source and destination path are same".

Importing Brew MP sample applications included with the Brew MP SDK

The procedure to import the sample applications included with the Brew MP SDK varies slightly from the procedure to import a Brew MP project.

  1. Run the sample code installer from the SDK Manager Setup tab, ensuring that the option to include Eclipse files is selected.
  2. Open Eclipse and select File > Import.
  3. Within the Import dialog, select General > Existing Projects into Workspace, then select Next.

  4. In the next dialog, browse to the SampleCode folder where you installed the Brew MP SDK sample code, and select an application. The Projects listbox will display all recognized projects. Ensure that the checkbox to Copy projects into workspace is selected, and click Finish.
