Running your application

This section covers running your active application on a simulation target and device.

Run configuration

The Brew MP Eclipse Plugin sets the default run configuration.

  1. To view the run configurations, select the arrow next to the run icon, and select Run Configurations.

    The Run Configurations dialog opens, where the run configuration can be edited.

Setting run properties

  1. Within Eclipse, select Project > Properties.
  2. Expand the Brew MP node, and select Run.

    The run properties display, as shown below.

  3. Select one of the following options:
    • Do not run application on target after install
    • Run Applet, selecting the ClassID from the drop-down list
    • Run Custom ClassID

Running the application on a Brew MP simulation target

Be sure you have an existing target, otherwise you will see 'none' in the Targets drop-down menu. See the Target Manager Help and/or Simulator Help for instructions to create a simulation target.

  1. In the Eclipse Plugin toolbar, select Brew MP Simulation Target from the Target Types drop-down menu.

  2. Select the desired target from the Targets drop-down menu.
  3. Select Run > Run As > Brew MP Application, or select the run icon on the Eclipse toolbar.

Running the application on the BREW 3.x/4.x Simulator

If you have a 3.x or 4.x platform installed such as the BREW 3.1.5 SP02 Platform, you will see the 3.1.5 or 4.0.2 Simulator in the Target Type drop-down menu.

  1. In the Eclipse Plugin toolbar, select BREW 3.1.5 SP01 Simulator or BREW 4.0.2 SP19 Simulator from the Target Types drop-down menu.

  2. Select Run > Run As > Brew MP Application, or select the run icon on the Eclipse toolbar.

Running your application on a Brew MP physical target

  1. Connect your device to your computer.
  2. In the Eclipse Plugin toolbar, select Brew MP Physical Target from the Target Types drop-down menu.

  3. Select the desired target from the Targets drop-down menu.

  4. Select Run > Run As > Brew MP Application, or select the run icon on the Eclipse toolbar.

    The application MOD is generated and loaded to the device file system. The application is launched on the device.
