QIDL command examples

The following examples show typical usage of the QIDL compiler. To run the QIDL compiler:

  1. Open a Command Prompt window.
  2. Type the QIDL command and press Enter.

The following command compiles foo.idl and bar.idl and creates a C/C++ header file for each IDL file (foo.h and bar.h). Stub and skeleton code is not generated.

qidl -ho foo.idl bar.idl

The following command compiles foo.idl and creates the CIF file foo.cif.

qidl -mcif foo.idl bar.idl

The following command compiles foo.idl, creates a combined C/C++ header file foo.h, and also creates the stub and skel files listed below.

qidl foo.idl

foo_stub.h

C stub header

foo_stub.c

C stub implementation

foo_skel.h

C skeleton header

foo_skel.c

C skeleton implementation
