Generating a local ClassID

You must be an authenticated Brew MP developer before an official BID can be assigned to you from the Brew MP website. If you are not an authenticated Brew MP developer, or if you want to quickly create a MIF for testing purposes, you can enter a local ClassID for use within the SDK.

Note: The Locally option allows you to run your application for testing purposes. When running on device, it is recommended to obtain a unique, 32-bit BID for each Brew MP class you create, including Brew MP system classes and all applet and non-applet classes.

To generate a ClassID locally

  1. Open the Resource Manager.
  2. Select the new module file button on the toolbar or select File > New Module File (.cif).
  3. Select the Applets tab.

  4. Click the button.
  5. The Add New Applet dialog opens.

Type the applet name in the Applet Name field.

  6. Select the Locally option button. The ID field is filled with a local ClassID. In the Name field, the name for the class becomes "AEECLSID_" followed by the module name.
  7. Click OK.

    A Save As dialog opens.

  8. Navigate to the location where you want to save the file, enter a filename, select the file type from the drop-down menu, and click Save.

The Save As dialog closes and the Resource Manager window shows the name and ClassID you created locally.
